World Hepatitis Day
Hepatitis B is a serious liver infection caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV). It can affect anyone, regardless of age. As you continue your education, it’s important to be aware of how to protect yourself and others from this disease.
Hepatitis B spreads through contact with infectious body fluids, such as blood, and can be transmitted through unprotected sex, sharing needles, or from mother to baby during birth. It can also be spread through contact with contaminated items, like toothbrushes or razors.
The good news is that hepatitis B can be prevented with a simple vaccine. Getting vaccinated is the most effective way to protect yourself. The vaccine is safe and usually given in a series of three shots.
If you haven’t been vaccinated yet, please talk to your parents or guardians about getting the vaccine. It’s also important to practice good hygiene and avoid sharing personal items.
Stay informed and take care of your health. By staying aware and getting vaccinated, you help protect not only yourself but also those around you.
Stay safe and healthy!
