In today's age, one thing that is most freely available is an opinion. And often, it is an opinion expressed stridently, self-righteously. Whether it is the mainstream media with its self-appointed pundits, or social media with its abusive trolls, one's views are constantly being challenged or moulded. In such an environment, if you are a child or teen faced with the additional onslaught of peer pressure and parental expectations, it seems almost impossible to think independently.
Which is where the Bal Bharati way of education comes in. We believe in bringing up children so that they develop the capacity for independent thinking and discernment. We help them become mindful listeners and
readers, avoid stereotypes and prejudices, learn how to handle trolls, bullies and peer pressure, and not get affected by the dominant media discourse.
