The Prospective Resource Person Programme aimed to enhance educators' teaching methodologies through the lens of active learning. Active Learning strategies implemented in Classroom teachings pave way to collaborative, inclusive and creative environment for the young learners.

Overview of the Session:

The workshop on Active Learning was immensely beneficial and provided practical insights and a wealth of resources to the attendees. Iimplementing the same would be quite beneficial in the teaching practices of all streams. This initiative ultimately aims to cultivate dynamic and interactive learning environments that enhance student engagement and educational outcomes.

Highlights of the Session:

The workshop began with the session titled "Active Learning Unveiled: Embracing Meaningful Engagement," where the shift from passive learning to active participation was thoroughly explored. This approach empowers students to engage collaboratively, fostering critical thinking and deeper understanding of concepts through hands-on activities. Participants recognized the transformative potential of immersive learning experiences, which motivate students and instill a sense of ownership in their educational journeys.

The first session highlighted the profound impact of empathy on both students and teachers, emphasizing its role as a means of connection. Empathy involves acknowledging the meaningful experiences of others, even if we cannot fully comprehend their feelings. It allows us to convey, “I want to understand your perspective and assure you that you’re not alone.” This powerful tool enhances our understanding of the underlying factors influencing students’ behaviors and aids in developing effective strategies to support them. Moreover, empathy fosters a collaborative environment for navigating challenging situations. For students, particularly those who learn and think differently, feeling understood and supported is crucial; it boosts motivation, enhances self-awareness, and encourages self-advocacy. These skills of self-determination ultimately contribute to improved educational outcomes.

In the second session, "Engaging Strategies for Active Learning”,attendees actively participated in presentations based on various innovative teaching strategies such as case studies, role play, and gamification.

This interactive format encouraged participants to brainstorm and share creative methods for enhancing classroom engagement. Following this, Dr. Veena led a session on "Crafting the Path," where she demonstrated effective active learning activity plans. She emphasized techniques that promote student-led discussions, real-world applications, and the integration of technology in the classroom.

The final session, "Dive into Active Learning," facilitated hands-on experiences where groups presented innovative techniques for implementing active learning strategies.

Through simulations, group projects, and real-world problem-solving activities, participants were equipped with a plethora of engaging techniques to inspire student interest in diverse subjects.
