STORYTELLING AND PUPPETRY WORKSHOP (2025-26)

Introduction:
An engaging and mesmerizing ventriloquist extravaganza ‘Whisper of Wonders’ was conducted for the young learners of Class I and II on 08.04.25 in the auditorium. The session was conducted by Ventriloquist Mr. M Santhosh Kr. This interactive workshop introduced the students to the world of ventriloquism, reinforced good manners and upheld moral values as well as raised concern for the environmental issues.
Purpose:
The purpose of this workshop was to creatively engage the young learners of class I and II and bring to their attention the environmental issues as well as to reinforce good manners and life skills in an age appropriate manner. Another objective was to build their interest in the art of Ventriloquism.
Highlights of the workshop:
Introduction to the Puppets
The students were introduced to the characters of boy, croc, dragon , parrot and Lucy (girl) played by the puppets. They thoroughly enjoyed each character’s unique mannerisms and voice which was brought to life by Mr. M Santhosh Kr.
Reinforcing Good Manners and Moral Values and Developing Environmental Awareness
Through the puppets, each student learned about the importance of using magic words such as thank you and sorry and greeting everyone in the correct manner. They were also coached about how to identify and respond to good and bad touch. The characters of Croc, Dragon and Parrot enabled the students to understand the impact of human actions such as throwing plastic in water, cutting trees on our environment. Mr. M Santhosh Kr also emphasized on how to take care of animals and birds and suggested a few ways that can be incorporated by the children into their own lives.
Importance of Slow and Mindful Breathing
The storytelling session also brought focus in establishing the importance of slow and mindful breathing among the young learners. The ventriloquist carefully guided our young learners into breathing slowly and mindfully by incorporating the technique of counting their breath after each character introduction. Students were focused and engaged visually, auditorily and kinesthetically through this activity during the workshop.
Hands -on experience in the art of Ventriloquism
Students were given hands-on experience in the art of ventriloquism. A few students were called to the stage and were helped by the ventriloquist Mr. M Santhosh Kr who provided the voice while the students operated the puppets. The audience was also engaged as they used their hands to mimic the actions of the ventriloquist.
Conclusion: It was an engaging and meaningful experience for the students of class I and II aligned with the curricular goals and competencies as suggested by NEP 2020. The workshop was concluded with a Vote of Thanks to Mr. M Santhosh Kr by Mrs. Vinaya Pujari (HM Primary).

Introduction: The Karadi Path Workshop for Primary Teachers was held with the aim to introduce and train educators in the innovative Karadi Path modules. The workshop served as a professional development session designed to equip teachers with the knowledge and skills necessary to implement the Karadi Path methodology in their classrooms effectively.
Purpose: The workshop was initiated with the purpose to orient teachers with the Karadi Path approach, emphasizing its unique methodology that integrates auditory learning and physical activities to make language learning a fun, engaging, and natural process.
Highlights of the Event: The core of the workshop was a hands-on demonstration of the Karadi Path modules. Teachers participated in activities from the modules, experiencing how the learning materials are structured and how they can be adapted to their classrooms. The trainer highlighted key features of the modules, such as the use of audio stories and accompanying visuals, which are crucial for creating a multi-sensory learning experience.
Through the demonstration and hands on training teachers were explained the way Karadi Path uses stories and characters to encourage interaction and active participation from children, helping them develop their language skills in an organic and stress-free environment. This approach not only caters to different learning styles but also keeps students engaged and motivated throughout the lessons.
Teachers were also trained to use the audio stories of Karadi Path to enhance students' listening skills and pronunciation, allowing them to grasp new words and phrases in context. The workshop also covered techniques for using songs and rhymes to make language learning more enjoyable, as these tools help improve retention and comprehension.
At the conclusion of the workshop, teachers were given materials and resources to begin implementing Karadi Path modules in their own classrooms. They were also encouraged to engage in follow-up sessions for further support and guidance. Teachers left the workshop feeling empowered with a better understanding of how to effectively use Karadi Path to enhance their students' English language skills.
Conclusion: Overall, the Karadi Path Workshop was a success, providing primary teachers with valuable insights and practical tools to improve their teaching methods and support their students' language development. The program’s unique approach to English learning is designed to make a significant difference in the way language is taught in primary classrooms.
