To mark the victory of Indian armed forces in the Kargil War against Pakistan in 1999, Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated on July 26th every year. This day commemorates the heroic efforts and supreme sacrifice of our soldiers who fought valiantly to reclaim the strategically important peaks in the Kargil district of Jammu and Kashmir.
